Universidad Nacional de Colombia
Design and manufacture a cabin, a propulsion system and its support systems to move a boat which has a maximum weight of 260 Kg and to participate in the Monaco Energy Class 2020. The cabin will be aerodynamic and designed using CFD to reduce the drag coefficient. And it will be made of composite materials using tubular structures. Besides that, the propulsion system will have a main electrical source with Li-ion batteries and an auxiliary source with photovoltaic solar panels. In addition, the rudder and propeller will be designed using CFD according to the requirements of the boat. Finally, the steering system will be electronic and there will be a telemetry system using LoRa modules to transmit real-time information to the pilot and the technical team.
